Sunny Volano (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, and doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision at Adams State University. She owns and operates a rural private practice in North Georgia, where she provides trauma-informed counseling, supervision, and continuing education. Her clinical work focuses on trauma, religious coercion, and spiritual harm, and culturally responsive assessment across the lifespan. Her scholarship examines power, coercive control, and the ethical integration of spirituality in counseling practice and training. In counselor education, she integrates trauma-informed, experiential, and culturally sustaining pedagogies that emphasize relational accountability, cultural humility, and ethical decision-making.
