Dr. Katie Christensen is an Assistant Professor in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, UT, where she serves as Chi Sigma Iota Chapter Faculty Advisor. She earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Christensen specializes in grief counseling, reducing sizeism within the counseling profession, and supporting emerging counselors, which are showcased through her teaching, research, clinical practice, leadership, and advocacy efforts. Dr. Christensen is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah where she primarily works with adults and couples. She has presented at national and international counseling conferences on topics of grief counseling, sizeism within the counseling profession, and multicultural considerations in counseling and counselor education.
