Kari owns the group practice Wildroots Collective, where, using a feminist narrative lens, she supports parents in deconstructing the social expectations, pressures and misunderstandings experienced in parenthood to help them find empowerment, agency and joy amidst the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood. Kari's clinical focus is on perinatal mental health and women's issues. Her research on the experience of receiving perinatal mental health from a PMH-C concludes her doctoral dissertation process, where much of the focus was on perinatal mental health. Kari is a parent of two, and has experienced pregnancy losses in her own parenthood journey. Serving as the Vice-Chair on the PSI Wyoming Board and supervising and collaborating with PMH-Cs in her community is a passion of hers as she continues her work to support parents across rural regions of the country.
