Dr. Sabina Scott is an Assistant Professor in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Westminster University. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Montana and brings extensive experience as a clinician, educator, and supervisor. Dr. Scott’s clinical practice has centered on addressing various mental health issues across individual, couples, and family counseling. In her teaching and research, she explores the intersection of gatekeeping, professional competence, cultural humility, and ethical practice. As a foreign-born educator from Kyrgyzstan, she advocates for culturally responsive approaches to counseling and counselor education, emphasizing the need for mental health equity. She has presented at national and international conferences on topics such as professional competence, multicultural considerations in counseling, and mental health advocacy. Dr. Scott is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah and Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Montana, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and an active advocate for advancing mental health through teaching, supervision, and advocacy at local, national, and global levels. Her professional memberships include the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), and Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ).
