Liz Dinwiddie holds a PhD in Counseling and Supervision from James Madison University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from East Tennessee State University. Dr. Dinwiddie is a licensed school counselor, Licensed Professional counselor, and Nationally Certified Counselor who has worked as a professional school counselor in a variety of K-12 settings and clinically specializes in child, adolescent, and family counseling. Dr. Dinwiddie is an assistant professor in the Counseling and Career Development master’s program at Colorado State University and the coordinator of the program’s School Counseling specialization. Her research focuses on school counselor professional identity development and centering student voice in the work of defining and supporting school counselor role in the ever-evolving mental health landscape of public education. Her research interests center on youth participatory action research and maximizing the effective integration of evidence-based mental health and wellness services in public education spaces.
