Kimberly Parrow, PhD, LCPC is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Center for Advancement of Positive Education (CAPE) and the Department of Counseling at the University of Montana. Grounded in the principles of positive education, Kim believes in the transformative power of cultivating positive skills and strengths to build resilience against life’s most challenging circumstances. She integrates evidence-based positive interventions with traditional therapeutic approaches to foster human flourishing and post-traumatic growth. Kim authored a comprehensive textbook for clinical mental health counseling that guides faculty, supervisors, and students in the practical application of an evidence-based relationship factors (EBRFs) model of care. She co-authored “Intimate Relationships,” an edited textbook designed for those seeking to understand and cultivate healthy relationships. Her clinical expertise is supported by her credentials as a certified clinical trauma professional, EMDR-trained clinician, and level 2 Gottman Method couples therapist. Kim earned her doctorate from the Department of Counseling, where she served as the distinguished Moser-McKinney Fellow of the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education & Human Services. She holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a minor in human and family development. Her research, professional writing, presentations, and clinical work lie at the heart of human interaction, “The Relationship”.
