Elizabeth A. Horn, PhD, LCPC is a Professor at Idaho State University where she is the Associate Chair and Clinical Mental Health Program coordinator for the Department of Counseling. She has been a professional counselor for 25 years and a counselor educator for close to 20. While her primary research interests center around issues of grief and loss, she is heavily involved in mentoring the research agenda of her doctoral students whose interests vary. As such, she has several publications in peer-reviewed academic journals on topics ranging from death education to mindfulness in group work. She has presented numerous times at the national, regional, state, and local levels. She has twice been featured in Counseling Today for her expertise in grief counseling and is currently on the Grief and Loss Competencies Taskforce, a committee created by the Association for Adult Development and Aging, which developed the grief counseling competencies for the profession of counseling. She is also a partner in Grief and Loss Consultations LLC.
