Dr. Horsley is a school counselor educator certified as a School Counselor in New York and New Jersey. He also holds an LPC-A in New Jersey and has extensive experience fostering adult learners’ growth through experiential learning theory in his role as Assistant Professor of Counseling at Western New Mexico University. Dr. Horsley earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands in 2024. As someone who was once an adult learner himself, Dr. Horsley deeply values creating a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment. He sees students as equal partners in their academic journey, helping them grow into professional school counselors and clinical mental health counselors. As a school counselor, Dr. Horsley believes every student can succeed on their own terms when equipped with appropriate educational supports, wellness resources, and accessible services. His research focuses on several key areas aimed at improving the field of school counseling, including clinical supervision for school counselors, leadership development for school counselors, student mental health crisis management, and the training and education of school counselor supervisors.
