Shantelle D. Tjaden, PhD, CMHC, C-AAIS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at Utah Valley University and a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Utah and Idaho. She earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Counseling from Idaho State University. Her clinical and scholarly interests focus on the human-animal bond in counseling, animal-assisted interventions, trauma and crisis work, and the training and supervision of counselors-in-training.
