Tiffany Somerville, Ph.D., LPC is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Oregon University. Dr. Somerville received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon. She has counseled children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups across a variety of clinical settings. Her primary clinical focus has been serving children and adolescents who have experienced significant abuse and trauma. She is certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and trained in child-centered play therapy. Her research interests include the impacts of technology and social media on interpersonal relationships and child psychological well-being, creative expression in counseling, and analysis of research methodologies used in counseling. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time outdoors.
