Spencer Heindel, LPC, NCC is a doctoral student in Counselor Education & Counseling at Idaho State University. His clinical and scholarly work focuses on animal-assisted services, child and adolescent counseling, and men’s mental health. Spencer is actively involved in the Research on Anthrozoological Relationships (ROAR) Laboratory and is committed to advancing ethical, evidence-based practices in human-animal interaction and counseling. Spencer is a doctoral student specializing in animal-assisted services and clinical mental health counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in community mental health and university counseling settings. His research interests include animal-assisted therapy standards, animal-assisted play therapy, men’s mental health, and child and adolescent counseling. The presenter is actively involved in the Research on Anthrozoological Relationships (ROAR) Laboratory at Idaho State University, where he serves as Assistant Co-Director and as a mentor to developing professionals and researchers. He has contributed to multiple scholarly poster presentations at the international, regional, and state levels and is engaged in advocacy efforts related to ethical counseling practice and human-animal interaction.
