Joanna Stowell is a second-year graduate student at Utah State University, pursuing a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in school counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and currently works at the elementary school level as a behavior support specialist and teacher’s aide while completing a 100-hour practicum in preparation for a third-year internship and graduation. Prior to her current role and practicum, Joanna supported refugee students in her local school district, serving as a refugee student advocate. She is an active member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the Utah School Counselor Association (USCA), and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES).
