Laura M. Stanley, Ph.D., CPE is a tenured Associate Professor in Montana State University’s Gianforte School of Computing and Director of the Human Interaction Lab. Her research spans human-centered AI, immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR), affective computing, digital health, and human–robot interaction, with an emphasis on safety, performance, and well-being. She previously served as an NSF Program Director for Human-Centered Computing and has led NSF-funded research; she is also a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist with prior IBM experience.
