Dr. Gossett-Thrower (Dr. GT) is an assistant professor with Colorado Christian University. She is a Licensed School Counselor in Colorado, with over 20 years of experience as a school counselor. Dr. GT was a first-generation college student, which ignited her passion to serve primarily in schools with high populations of first-generation, low-income Latino students. With school counseling teams fueled by a growth mindset, Dr. GT was honored to witness first-generation students earn acceptance into highly selective institutions and earn millions of dollars in scholarships. Dr. GT also served as a site supervisor for practicum and internship students in middle and high school counseling programs. Her professional interests include equity and access for marginalized and first-generation students, school counseling program development, school counselor professional identity, and focused supervision of school counselors. She is excited to share her passion and knowledge with future school and clinical mental health counselors. Dr. GT resides near the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two dogs.
